چکیده

Terminalia catappa L. (cây Bàng) belongs to the family Bàng (Combretaceae), is a large tree species living mainly in tropics. The phytochemical studies of this plant have only focused on volatile fraction and tannins. main components include terpenes, flavonoids, tannins, saponins phytosterols. T. has been recognized as an important medicinal plant. In traditional medicine, leaf, bark fruit are used treating dysentery, rheumatism, cough asthma. also helpful treatment leprosy headaches leaves specifically getting rid intestinal parasites, eye problems, wounds, liver problems. Due its rich ingredients, various herbal medicines for different purposes. This study aims characterize phyto-chemical constituents present leaf extracts using chromatographic spectroscopicmethods. Four tectochrysin (1), luteolin (2), kaempferol 3,7,4′-trimethyl ether (4), (5), one phenolic, gallic acid (3), were isolated from ethylacetate L.. Their structures elucidated basis spectroscopic analysis comparisons with known related compounds. Compounds 1 4 reported first time catappa.

Characterization and Quantification of Compounds in the Hydroalcoholic Extract of the Leaves from Terminalia catappa Linn. (Combretaceae) and Their Mutagenic Activity

Terminalia is a genus of Combretaceous plants widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions. Thus, the aim of this study was to quantify the majority compounds of the hydroalcoholic extract (7 : 3, v/v) of the leaves from T. catappa by HPLC-PDA, chemically characterize by hyphenated techniques (HPLC-ESI-IT-MS(n)) and NMR, and evaluate its mutagenic activity by the Salmonella/microsome ...

The anthelmintic effects of the ethanol extract of Terminalia catappa L. leaves against the ruminant gut parasite, Fischoederius cobboldi.

Presently, no effective anthelmintic drugs have been used to treat and control paramphistomosis, a severe disease of ruminants. In this study, we have investigated the in vitro anthelmintic effect of the leaves of Terminalia catappa L. crude extract (TcCE) and albendazole (ABZ) on adult Fischoederius cobboldi after incubating the flukes in RPMI-1640 medium containing the TcCE at various doses a...
